I actually have been beading.....though I'm not the best at getting pictures taken and posted. Who knows maybe I'll get better at that. Anyway this is "On Golden Wings" the wall hanging I did for the heart challenge on the yahoo group "a bead story" that Dot and I started at the end of December. Hearts are not my fav motif....but dragonflies are so this is what I came up with. Now to get started on our next challenge...Mexico....hmm maybe a couple of cold Coronas and guacamole would inspire me.....

Introducing....Gus
Introducing the newest member of our family, Gus. An adorable 9 week old mini wirehaired dachsund, that my dh, Scott surprised me with on Sunday. Oh I'd seen a picture of Gus 2 weeks ago, but I knew we didn't really need another pup even though I've wanted one for sometime. I had a wirehair when I was a kid, Luke and have always wanted another to share my life. But they aren't that easy to come by and there was a litter right there in Ocean Shores! On Sunday I was out on one of my long beach walks hunting sand dollars. When I got to the jetty there was Scott waiting for me, with Gus tucked inside his jacket...my first thought was OH NO! you didn't, we don't need another pup....but then he handed Gus to me...that was it...my heart was gone. Guess we really did need another pup.

2007-2008 Bead Journal Project
The day after I turned 49, June 1st I started my first BJP piece and today May 31st I have achieved 50! and am posting my BJP journey! Achieved because it hasn't been the easiest year of my life 2 of my beloved, treasured and cherished pups went to the Rainbow Bridge. My Dad passed December 8th and my Mama passed February 25th....I miss them all. Several of my pieces I worked on while tending to my parents. Beads are my therapy, they keep me sane...well sane as I'm ever going to be! It worked out that the window here in my bead nest is 72" wide, divide that by 12 and voile' I have a valance! here are June, July & August:
March, April, May 2007-2008 BJP
March, April & May: hard to believe the year is over, as I look up to the valance above my head I can recall where I was while working on each piece....some good, some bad but all a part of me. Thank you Robin for taking me along on this journey. I'm already looking forward to the next.
